Highly controlled flashes of light are selectively absorbed by hair follicles lying below the surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair, which damages or destroys the regrowth potential of the hair follicle, all without damaging the surrounding tissue, leaving the skin soft like the hair was never there. The IPL hair removal will be tailored to the individual. Your treatment begins by shaving or trimming away the hair above the skin. You will be asked to wear glasses to protect your eyes from the bright light. A cold gel will be applied over the treatment area. You may feel a little heat with each pulse of light and it can feel similar to the snap of an elastic band. On average 6 to 8 treatments may be required to provide long-term hair reduction.
